Sharepoint field "people"

Hello,

I have a field in Sharepoint type people or group - named WhoLiked.

I am trying to use this field in a Gallery.

This Gallery3 is a detailed view of a record from a view form.

It has items property:  Gallery2.Selected

I try to add a label in it with properties:

ThisItem.WhoLiked.DisplayName

it shows error that it expected Text value and this produce a Table value which is incompatible.

Is there a workaround?

Hi @Elitezone ,

Do you want to add a Label to display a person field of parent gallery selected record?

I made a test on my own and it worked fine. So the people field in your SP list allows multiple selections, right?

If you do need the field allow multiple selections, then you could modify the Label's Text to:

Concat(ThisItem.WhoLiked,DisplayName,";")

This would help concatenate all selected display names with semicolons.

If the field actually not allow multiple selections, please modify the column in SP list, refresh the data source on the Data pane.

This works. Thanks.

I messed up tho with using this function I guess... Should have went for 365 connector...

@v-jefferni  I thought that this: Concat(ThisItem.WhoLiked,Picture,";") as an Image will show 365 profile image.

But it shows this default image:

I guess I need 365 connector to show what I really need... (Department, Image) 😞

I tried to use this function:

Office365Users.UserPhoto(Office365Users.MyProfile().Id)

but it always shows my photo. Is there a way to show a photo for this item gallery?

Basicly I need a function to show ThisItem with this 365 image ;(

My last effort was this:

Office365Users.UserPhoto(Concat(ThisItem.WhoLikedPeople,DisplayName,";"))
Office365Users.UserPhotoV2(Gallery2.Selected.WhoLikedPeople))

It does not work tho.

Hi @Elitezone ,

Could you please share a bit more about your scenario? What items do you really want to display in the gallery?

Do you want to display all WhoLikedPeople field information of the selected record which contains Users' photos, departments and display names in the gallery?

 If you do, you may set the Items of Gallery3 to:

Gallery2.selected.WhoLikedPeople

Then, Photos could display with ThisItem.Photo, and Department would be ThisItem.Department.

@v-jefferni

Your function works but my problem is that ThisItem.Picture shows a blank photo (default as I showed earlier) as it tries to take photo from Sharepoint address.

My users have avatars in 365 profile - and they are not loaded.

Sharepoint have different user Photos?

Same with JobTitle and Departement. It is showing blank data but my users have data in Active Directory...

Therefore I thought that maybe I can use some of 365 functions...

My scenario is like that:

I have a Sharepoint field WhoLikedPeople. This field stores data about person who liked a proposition. In Gallery2 I have a view on all propositions. When people click on it a gallery appears with details. In this gallery I present information about people who liked a proposition (only this one proposition).

So I would like to show:

Photo from 365 (thought this Sharepoint is the same, but it isn't)

Name

Email

Department (from 365 - this ThisItem.Department shows no value)...

@v-jefferni

Something is weird. It started to work now? Maybe there is a delay between sharepoint and aad... I don't know but it took my photo and department ID.

I thought that Sharepoint is not integrated with AAD but it seems it is...

Hi @Elitezone ,

Glad to heard that it helped.

Could you please consider accept my post as the solution to help other members to find it?

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Thanks a lot!

@v-jefferni

My users reported to me that they do not see Pictures. They can see Departament. Very weird why my picture is seen on my pc and everyone else cannot see it.

Hi @Elitezone ,

Could you please share the details about the details about the Gallery3, especially the Items property and Image property of the picture?

@v-jefferni

Gallery items: Gallery2.Selected.WhoLikedPeople

Image property: ThisItem.Picture

On my PC I can see my 365 image, but no one else can... I cannot see it on my Phone as well.
