Sharepoint list lookup from Barcode scan

Hi All,

So looking to make a poor man's barcode scanner for some of our field guys, the barcodes and partnumbers are part of a sharepoint list (barcode (num) , partnumber(text) )

I can use a button and run a look up fine against the list with a barcode number

Set(<PartVariable>, LookUp(<SPList>, Barcode = 884548000000, <PartNumInList>))
The variable is populated and used in the rest of the app

But when i try to use the barcodescanner.value it fails to lookup the value

Set(<ScanVariable>, Value(BarcodeScanner1.Value));
Set(<PartVariable>, LookUp(<SPList>, Barcode = Scan, <PartNumInList>))

Re: Sharepoint list lookup from Barcode scan

Thanks for the suggestion, I added a text input box and confirmed the barcode was coming across right. What i should have checked before was that the barcode actually existed in the document list! I added the right barcode and part number and bam, worked like a dream.

only question i have now is should i be capturing the barcodescanner input into a variable first? if so is there a limit to variables for an app? Also maybe how do you delete a global variable(for the life of me I can't figure it out!)?

Solution -

Confirmed Barcode output was coming across as expected tp input textbox

Confirmed the barcode number i was using actually was in the SP list i running lookup against (was not so fixed this issue)

tested query with actual barcode value that was present the SP list

barcode scan used in the lookup worked as expected.

Re: Sharepoint list lookup from Barcode scan

Put a label on screen with that variable see what returns to it if anything. Could be the barcode type isn’t supported or something.
