Sharing App and Permissions

Morning all,

I have built a really simple app off the common data service but when I share the app, the users get the following when they try and use it.

You don't have permission to view this data. Server Response: Principal user (Id=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, type=8, roleCount=2, privilegeCount=490, accessMode=0, is missing prvReadcr2f5_SurreyBusinessExpo privilege (Id=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) on OTC=10015. context.Caller=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I have read all the helptext on it. They are added on the environment and their roles are added when i share with them through the app but no luck!

Please can someone help?

Thanks!

Re: Sharing App and Permissions

Hey @Simmo86

I am hoping that you have not made any customisations on the entity security roles. Can you go to the advanced settings and in the security roles' Custom entities, check if this entity has a read access at the Organisational level?

Please refer to the screenshot:Picture1.png

Is this error popping up only to the user Gemma?

I would also suggest to first log out of the current session and close the browser window. Start a fresh session and run the app again and check if the same issues is there.

Hope this Helps!

Re: Sharing App and Permissions

hi @Simmo86

Have you created the security roles as in the below screenshot and assigned the app the security roles and added the users to that role?kkk.png

kjk.png

If you click on Myapps in the 3rd point of 1st screesnhot you will be taken to the screen as shown in the second screenshot. Click on the ellipses of your model driven app and click manage roles and add the role to the app.

All the users added to that role will automaticlly be added then,

Hope this Helps!

Re: Sharing App and Permissions

Thank you so much for your swift reply as this app is due to be used on Monday!

The app I have is a canvas app however. I only have one environment. The entity as shown below is set to 'Organisational' ownership.

Then in the environment, I click manage users and have checked the permission of the user I am trialling with 'Gemma'....

Then when I share the app, you will see that it says the whole organisation anyway, but specifically, the user 'Gemma' has the same permissions as shown above:

But when she tries to use the app, she gets:

Does that help? Do you have any ideas?

Thanks,

Alex
