ShowNavigation option in PowerApps is not working

We created an app using a vertical gallery to display the items from a SharePoint list. We enabled the 'Shownavigation' option of the gallery to enable the navigation for the user to navigate between the list items. The template size of the App was of custom dimension (800*300). The App was working as per the requirement until we made some changes last week (Feb 4th).

We made some changes like the font size of the text, some spacing issue and published the App. Post that the App's default navigation has stopped working.

As a workaround, we currently disabled the Improve rendering option for the navigations to work. It was working fine until we made further changes like disabling the Aspect Ratio option.

Now the navigations are not working at all.

Please suggest if any changes have been made in PowerApps recently, or if this functionality is Absolute now. If yes, what is the alternative that is suggested to achieve the navigation functionality?

Thanks!

Re: ShowNavigation option in PowerApps is not working

Hi @Anonymous,

Do you mean that the Show Navigation arrow doesn’t work?

According to your description, I have started an app from SharePoint list, then turn on Show navigation, change the font size, turn off the Improve rendering option, turn off the Aspect ratio, save the app.

When I click the Show Navigation arrow on the gallery, it is still working fine.

Please take another try with it.

If the issue still happens, please feel free post back with more details to help reproduce this issue.

Re: ShowNavigation option in PowerApps is not working

@Anonymous This is a known issue with the show navigation buttons. The cause is that the buttons are positioned behind the gallery contents. If the button just happens to be overlapping with other controls, you cannot select it. The workaround now is to set ShowScrollbars to true (which is a good thing for usability anyway).

The fix will be coming soon.

Re: ShowNavigation option in PowerApps is not working

This should have been fixed a long time ago. If you still experience the same problem, can you describe in detail the steps to demonstrate the problem? I don't experience this issue in a new app with a single Gallery control in it. The navigation buttons appear correctly for me.

Re: ShowNavigation option in PowerApps is not working

I am getting this error. I have turned on the Show Navigation to true, but the arrows do not work when you press them. If I then use the scroll bar and move the gallery slightly it works, but then if I go out of this screen and into another then back again, it won't work again.

Re: ShowNavigation option in PowerApps is not working

Hello,

I have the same issue. My navigation arrow is not hidden behind anything and it even turns a "selected color".
This gallery is coming from a collection and is sized so that only one item is seen at a time. (I have tried resizing it and the error still happens).

On the first opening my powerapp to edit/launch everything works perfectly. When I go back to the home page and come back it will not work. When I go back to the home page I even clear my collection and recollect using an onselect button in order to get around the fact my gallery was not returning to the first item.

I have a label for troubleshooting in my gallery with the text set to gallery2.visibleindex. When my gallery nav button works, the visible index starts with 1 and works correctly counting up by 1. When my gallery nav button does not work, the visible index starts at 0 and nothing will fix the issue unless I wipe out the item formula paste it back in. Then it starts over correctly.

This happens on both horizontal and vertical galleries.
