Showing Dupe/Unwanted options in Dropdowns

Hi everyone,

I am working on a Power App and am running into an issue where the account category dropdown is showing dupe options specifically in the Account Category 2 field and Account Category 4 field. See the picture below where it shows "REINSURANCE" twice and it also shows REAL ESTATE twice and ESCROW/TITLE , but those are higher if you scrolled up.

So, if the default group is set to "EXTERNAL" and account category 1 is set to "RESTRICTED" -> account category 2 shows the issue listed before -> account category 3 shows "Managed", "Managed", Not Managed  when it should only show managed and not managed, -> and account category 4 shows FUNDS/NOT FUNDS when it should only be showing NOT FUNDS.

If the default group is set to "OPERATING" and account category 1 is set to "RESTRICTED" -> account category 2 shows the issue listed before -> account category 3 shows "Managed", "Managed", "Not Managed" when it should only show managed and not managed, -> and account category 4 shows FUNDS/NOT FUNDS when it should only be showing NOT FUNDS.

I have attached the excel file used for this, but deleted most of the data/changed some data for privacy.

Here is the code listed in the Power app for each category dropdown

Default Group - Items Field = where Category is the list name in the below code

Distinct(Category,Title)

Account Category 1 - Items Field = where Category is the list name in the below code

Distinct(Filter(Category, Title = Default_Group_Dropdown1.Selected.Result),'Account category 1 - Description')

Account Category 2 - Items Field = where Category is the list name in the below code and Acct_Cat_1_Dropdown is the name of the account category 1 dropdown

Filter(Category, 'Account category 1 - Description' = Acct_Cat_1_Dropdown.Selected.Result)

Acct_Category_1_Result_Dependency.png Clicking the account category 2 dropdown this is what the value dependency shows

Account Category 3 - Items Field = where Category is the list name in the below code and Acct_Cat_2_Dropdown is the name of the account category 2 dropdown

Filter(Category, 'Account category 2 - Description' = Acct_Cat_2_Dropdown.Selected.'Account category 2 - Description')

 Screenshot 2022-07-26 090011.png Clicking the account category 3 dropdown this is what the dependency value shows

account category 4 - items field = where Category is the list name

Distinct(Filter(Category, 'Account category 3 - Description' = Acct_Cat_3_Dropdown.Selected.'Account category 3 - Description'),'Account category 4 - Description')

I hope this makes sense and any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if more information is needed

@FlatFish

To remove the duplicates you need to add Distinct to the Items property, so for account category 3

Distinct(
  Filter(
      Category, 'Account category 2 - Description' = Acct_Cat_2_Dropdown.Selected.Result
  ), 'Account category 3 - Description'
)

For category 4

Distinct(
    Filter(
            Category, 'Account category 3 - Description' = Acct_Cat_3_Dropdown.Selected.Result
    ), 'Account category 4 - Description'
)
