Simple Notifications When New or Changed Data Occurs

I am creating a simple PowerApp that will track revisions and will primarily be used on a phone by truck loaders. I need it to notify them when a new item is created or one is edited.

I looked over this article:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/add-notifications

but I got stuck after adding connector to my PowerApp. I added it to the project:

but not sure how to make it work from this point...I got lost around Step 4 of "Send a notification from an app"...Any suggestions?

Hi @Garak0410

Do you need the notification to show up on the application? If that is not a fixed requirement, you can send notifications using Microsoft Flow as well. The trigger will be when an item is created in the data source that you have selected, and a notification email or even in the phone and/or device will be sent. On the tutorial that you sent, they are actually creating a Flow

Primarily, we need the app to notify the truck loader so he is aware of changes in the job/load. He doesn't have a PC and works only from phone. So you still suggest Flow for this?

Hi @Garak0410

Yes, I think that for this scenario a Flow notification will work, the Flow notification action can send an email notification or a notification to the device (phone/tablet). Unless you need the notification appear on the app, I think a flow works perfect for your scenario.

Re: Simple Notifications When New or Changed Data Occurs

Hi @Garak0410 ,

There is 100% no direct way to send notifications from Power App directly unless you add a FLOW to do the job.... even in the article you provided step 4 is connecting incorporating flow to Power App. Power Automate is nothing but FLOW.
if you see the title he clearly said that Send a notification from a flow.

If you see any further difficult to follow the steps in the article, let me know I am always happy to do it for my community.

Krishna
