Simple Open Close Field

Hi

I have a form that has a Status field which is defaulted to 'Open' - the user will not be able to change this. Should I use option Disable or View for this?

When the manager goes in to update the report in a different screen I want them to have the functionality to close the report by drop down, simple Open to Closed and then populate the datasource with the selected option.

The datasource is Excel

Any direction would be appreciated as I did have this working now it's not playing ball.

hello @russelln1 ,
The status field should be Disabled... It is more convenient that way.
For the manager aspect, you can define a condition in the field display mode, You can hard code this using the various managers (if you have more than one) emails in there.

if(User().Email="manager@email.com",Displaymode.edit,Displaymode.disabled)
// INcase you have more
if(User().Email in ["manager@email.com","manager1@email.com",... "managerX@email.com"],Displaymode.edit,Displaymode.disabled)

Please accept as a solution if it works for you.
