Jese, this is quiet easy to do, but you can't call the OnVisible actions yourself.  What you need to do is move your formulas out of the OnVisible and put them someplace else.

Here is what I do...

I have a separate screen in the App that is just for formulas and actions.

In that screen I will add a Toggle Control.

I will set the Default property of the Toggle Control to a global variable.

In the OnCheck action of the toggle control, I will put the Formula that I want. At the end of the Formula, I will "clear" the global variable.

So, for example - let's say I have a screen called Screen1.  In the OnVisible I have some formula, let's say ClearCollect(someCol, SomeDataSource).  I want to be able to do this "on demand".

Step 1:  I will create a screen in the App that never gets seen.  Let's call it APP_INFO

Step 2:  I will add a Toggle Control to it and set the Default property to subScreen1_OnVisible

Step 3:  I will put the Formula from the OnVisible action of Screen1 into the OnCheck action of the Toggle and will also add a clearing formula.  My OnCheck action now looks like this:

ClearCollect(someCol, SomeDataSource);
Set(subScreen1_OnVisible, false)

Step 4: I will replace the formula in the OnVisible of Screen1 to the following:

   Set(subScreen1_OnVisible, true)

Step 5: Anywhere I want to "call" the action of the OnVisible, I will just throw in a Set(subScreen1_OnVisible, true) formula.

What happens is that Anywhere (any screen) and Anytime that you change the value of that global variable, the Toggle will respond since its Default is set to that variable.  As such, the OnCheck action will fire.  The last step of the action (to "clear" the variable back to false) is crucial.

In most cases, when we build PowerApps, we do this - especially for actions that are more complex or will need to be called on-demand.  There is nothing better than having all your critical complex Formulas on one screen where you don't have to hunt around the App to find them.

Hope this helps some.

@jesenavaranjan

You might want to step back and look at the design of your App.  Do you really need 10k records to be loaded into the App?

I realize this is needed in many cases in order to perform searches and functions against large data sources, but there comes a point that your App performance will suffer from it.  At that point, you might want to start to look into the possibility of creating views, functions and other ways to perform queries on data NOT at your App level.

Think Client/Server and SQL for example...we issue SQL statements to a database so that we get what we are looking for only.  If we had to download the entire database in order to perform a search on it, that would kill most all applications/apps.  So, as part of design, we determine that we need certain data and only that data and thus will issue a query to the datasource to return just that data.

We've suffered from this too when we start to go outside the lines with PowerApps.  The answer is to pull back and re-architect the concept with a more client/server (app/cloud) approach.

Hope this helps shed some thought.

Hiya

This is very helpful and I have applied a lot of these tactics in my app now

I have a question about the OnVisible porperties I have.

Is is possible to call the OnVisible to refresh - i.e. when I add data, I have a refresh button.
And by clicking the button, I want the OnStart/OnVisible functions to run again?

Thanks for your help
