Sluggish slow to load data from Azure SQL

Since Friday - all of my apps connecting to my Azure SQL cloud database - have been suffering from sluggish performance with intermittent failures to connect to the data - when I try to add a new table to an existing or new app I frequently get the below error

I have also had these issues and I am getting a very slow response.

Re: Sluggish slow to load data from Azure SQL

I am getting similar issue intermitently in PowerApps while connecting to Azure SQL Database. Its quite annoying. Is there any workaround to get rid from this issue? Any settings should be changed?

Tacking on as "me too" on this, since it's an issue for me as well.  I just think . PowerApps can't handle non-tiny data sets in Azure SQL, or really, in general since that's the only source you can use with sets larger than 2K rows.

Re: Sluggish slow to load data from Azure SQL

Try to use the execute a sql query to load datasets in Powerapps collections?

This gives you a better performance for sure.

It's a lot of work to rebuild and you have some challenges. But you don,t need the sql connection in your powerapps.

Re: Sluggish slow to load data from Azure SQL

That doesn't really scale well, solution-wise.  Having to layer yet another component into the mix might work around this problem, but it ads a layer of complexity, potential licensing dependencies, and other issues.  And it might not even solve the problems we're having.  I can see the value of being able to be more precise with SQL syntax to better ensure SQL performance, but I wasn't able to find an end-to-end example of using Flow/Automate to accept a parameterized query for SQL and return a result set that'd bind to a Gallery.
