Static Excel Data Source - Can this be changed?

I created an App by using a static excel data source. The App is tested, built more features in an agile model with my stake holders and now i wanted to make the data source as a dynamic one and add one more column in the source.

Is it possible to do this without breaking the current App shared with the stakeholders or i need to build a copy from scratch again?

Hi @SoorajDathan

You can add additional columns in the excel sheet and extend the table.  Also you need to refresh the datasource in your app to utilize the new columns.

Re: Static Excel Data Source - Can this be changed?

Hi @SoorajDathan ,

Do you want to add a new column in your Excel file to extend your Excel table?

The answer to your question is Yes. You could add a new column in your Excel file to extend your Excel table. But in order to make the changes take effect within your app, you need to remove the old Static Excel table connection from your app, then re-add a new connection to the Excel file through the "Import from Excel" connector as below:8.JPG

After that, you need to re-publish your canvas app, then your end users would be able to use your latest version app.
