Successful flow have only some fields populating Collection

Hi I have a powerapp bringing in data about a task list from a sharepoint site. To do this, I am using a flow to populate tasks information of a task list. Shown below is the sample schema.

{
    "type": "array",
    "items": {
        "type": "object",
        "properties": {
            "WebUrl": {
                "type": "string"
            },
            "ParentReference": {

            "DueDate",
            "PercentComplete"
        ]
    }
}

 Unfortunately, the flow runs but only some of the values actually come through to the powerapp. shown below is the collection.

The most important values I need are "StartDate", "DueDate" and "PercentComplete" but I am unable to retrieve these from the flow.

What I tried

They are found under "fields" record so I tried to access them directly as you can see in my sample schema but I still cant access their values inside the powerapp collection. Any suggestions?

Hi @simondpalmer ,

Do you want the StartDate, DueDate, ... columns to be exposed as individual columns within the collection in your canvas app, rather than as nested columns under Fields column?

If you want these StartDate, DueDate, ... columns to be exposed as individual columns within the collection in your canvas app, rather than as nested columns under Fields column, I afraid that there is no way to achieve your needs in your canvas app.

Based on the JSON Schema that you mentioned, the Fields property is a Object type. When retrieving data from your flow to your canvas app, the Fields property would be rendered as a "Record". If you want to access these  StartDate, DueDate, ... columns under the Fields property, please try the following workaround:

Add a Gallery, set the Items property to following:

ListItems // Your collection populated with data from your flow

Add several Labels in your Gallery, set the Text property to following:

ThisItem.Fields.StartDate
ThisItem.Fields.DueDate

....

Please note that these Map values you typed within the "Select List Items Return Fields" action should be from the "Get list items" action dynamic content.

If you still want these StartDate, DueDate, ... columns under the "Fields" property to be exposed as individual columns in your app's collection, you need to specify these StartDate, DueDate, ... columns within your "Select List Items Return Fields" action manually, just as the "ContentType" field. E.G. You need to add StartDate field in your "Select List Items Return Fields" action Map Entry manually, the corresponding dynamic content value should be:

fields.StartDate

After that, you need to save and re-run your flow, generate new Response JSON Schema from the "Output" of the  "Select List Items Return Fields" action. Please try above solution, check if the issue is solved.

@simondpalmer

This sounds like a Power Automate question rather than a PowerApps question.  I suggest you post this in the Power Automate Community instead. You’ll get a quicker and better response over there

Hi @simondpalmer,

Could you please share a screenshot about your flow's configuration?

Do you want to access the "StartDate", "DueDate" and "PercentComplete" field value under the "Fields" column in your ListItems collection?

Further, could you please share a bit more about the formula you used to access the "StartDate", "DueDate" and "PercentComplete" field value under the "Fields" column in your ListItems collection?

Based on the sample JSON schema you posted above, I found that the Fields column is a actually a Object type. If you want to access the "StartDate", "DueDate" and "PercentComplete" field value under the "Fields" column, please take a try with the following workaround:

Add a Galley in your app, set the Items property to following:

ListItems   // your collection

Add several Labels inside above Gallery. Set the Text property of one Label to following:

ThisItem.Name    // display task name

set the Text property of other one Label to following:

ThisItem.Fields.StartDate

set the Text property of other one Label to following:

ThisItem.Fields.DueDate

set the Text property of other one Label to following:

ThisItem.Fields.PercentComplete

Please consider take a try with above solution, then check if the "StartDate", "DueDate" and "PercentComplete" value for each task could be displayed well in above Gallery.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried that and the values aren't even coming into PowerApps from Flow. Here is a screen shot:

Capture3.JPG

 If necessary here is the Uri value as follows:

If( not ( equals( triggerBody()['odatanextLink_Value'], 'false' ) ), triggerBody()['odatanextLink_Value'], concat('_api/v2.0/sites/',triggerBody()['GetDriveItems_Uri'], '/items?$select=id,parentReference,webUrl,lastModifiedBy,createdBy,createdDateTime,lastModifiedDateTime&$expand=fields', triggerBody()['OdataQueryParameter_Value']))

Hi @simondpalmer ,

Have you specified proper "Response Body JSON Schema" value within the "Response" action in your flow?

Could you please share more details about the returned result from your flow in your canvas app?

The "Response Body JSON Schema" value should be generated with Output value from the "Select List Items Return Fields" action ("Select" action). In order to specify the "Response Body JSON Schema" value within your "Response" action, please check the following blog:

https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/return-an-array-from-flow-to-powerapps-response-method/

Please make sure Output result from your "Select List Items Return Fields" action in your flow could contain proper StartDate, DueDate and PercentComplete value.

Please try to refer to above blog I provided, then modify your flow, specify proper JSON value within the "Response Body JSON Schema" field of your "Response" action.

Thank you for the reply. I have generated the schema from that sample which has created the following. It works fine in Flow, generating all fields, just the particular fields I mentioned are missing when passed into Powerapps for some weird reason. As you can see I have those fields as "required" at the end however these don't come into powerapps as columns at all:

{
    "type": "array",
    "items": {
        "type": "object",
        "properties": {
            "WebUrl": {
                "type": "string"
            },
            "ParentReference": {
                "type": "object",
                "properties": {
                    "listId": {
                        "type": "string"
                    },

Thank you for your help. I got it to work by copying and renaming it. Removing the other flow and added this adjusted flow and it seems to work. Again thank you for your help
