I have started experiencing an annoying issue with building functions in teh commend bar box (place where you write a control or button function)
When typing a control name you should be ableselect it from the list that pops up below as you go. I have foud that when trying to select the list disappears and it puts my curser on teh manis screen where the item was
I also have teh same issue with the new function selection box (fx) I finad I cannot:
1. Select the functions from the list or
2. Change the list to match a data type like date
I exit and come back in and it is some times OK, but not all the time.
It is really annoying problem.
I cannot reproduce your issue. What is the browser that you are using? Please try with different web browsers to test.
I am currently using google chrome as there are issues with IE all the time. This animated GIF might work. But see how I go to the onselect and while I can use tab here I demonstrate using the mouse to select but if changes to Fill.
I can confirm that we are suddenly experiencing this same issue using both Chrome and IE11 on Windows 7, tested on multiple workstations.
While typing a formula, if you move your cursor down to select from the resulting list, you actually end up selecting what is behind the list. This of course changes the focus to that object and leaves your formula in the editor incomplete. This seems to have started at the same time the "Format text" option appeared under the editor window.
This is extremely disruptive to the experience making it much more difficult to do anything as you are constantly being tempted to click something that is actually "unclickable" which then randomly changes the focus to the (previously unseen) object that was under the list.

Hello! James here with the Microsoft PowerApps Team. This is actually an issue with the formula bar rather than our Format Text updates, but a fix will be going out in the next few days. In the meantime, using your tab key then pressing enter to choose your selection will allow for you to select the desired option (since currently all clicks are going through to the canvas). Sorry for the inconvience. A fix is already under way. Thanks!
There may be more issues with the chrome browser. I found that I had a form based on a galley selection. Suddenly the gallery selection failed to change the form data. It was a very old app. It was ok when running in dynamics
Using Chrome + Win 7 just now to edit app. The original issue appears to be fixed, in other words I can now select from the list of parameters that appears as usual.
Strange thing though, I can't use the enter key to make a new line. When I hit enter, the formula editing box gets a blue border then toggles back to no border if I hit enter again. The only way to get a new line is to use Shift + Enter...
Experienced the same behavior using IE11.
Hey! There was a recent switch regarding keyboard controls/shortcuts in that regard. To enter a new line in a formula, you must now use "Shift + Enter" rather than just enter. Sorry for any inconviences/confusions this may have caused.
How are users supposed to know about that sort of change? What is going on? I just tried to edit a fill color by changing teh RGBA number and the app wont let me. Is the a secret key set for this now as well. I also not when I added a function to teh onchange of a combo box it kept hanging for a long time as you typed in a key word.
If you are going to make changes how do you communicate them so thaty can be dealt with?
