Telling Powerapps that one of my columns is a photo column

I have an excel document and I am trying to add images to it so they show up in the search section of Powerapps. I can put in a link to the picture or I can put the picture directly into Excel. The issue I am having is that Powerapps is not taking the Images column as a image column. I have the Column named Images[Images] . I thought having it with that title would tell poweapps that that column is specific for pics and would show up under the images drop down, but it does not.

How do I tell powerapps that the excel column is a images column and have it auto populate in my search bar with those pics? Also doo I have it as a link or do I put the picture in directly?

You need to modify your column header so that there is a space before the [ and [image] must be all lower case

Hi @ShawnLJ,

Have you checked the following articles?

Generate an app from Excel data

And:

How to save images in an Excel File, and then add thses images to your app

The image should be in URL format. As the image control under PowerApps only supports URL.

Check the following article for more details:

Image control in PowerApps

Michael

Yes I have looked at those articles but I have still not been able to figure it out. I have added links to the excel file for the pictures that are uploaded onto a cloud. I have columns of all my data then I added a column for the picture links and titled the column [Images]. I then resaved the file and refreshed the powerapp, but the powerapp is not reading that column as a picture column and so I cannot add it to my gallary page pictures. I guess I am stuck on how to get powerapps to read that column as a picture column instead of just data?

Here is a screen shot of what I have showing up. This is taking the data link but showing it has a link instead of the picture. I am not sure how to change it.

Did you already try to bound it to the image control?

So basically drag an image control on your screen and put this link as the URL (or link attribute - i don't know the exact name) on your image!

@ShawnLJyou need to rename your column to Images [image]

The [image] is the key that tells PowerApps that it is an image.

Hello thank you for following up. When you say image control do you mean adding an image from the Media tab?

Here is what I have done so far:

I have a search page with all the image placers on the left. I have an arrow at where the images should be showing up as an option but it is not. I have the image column set up with a title as shown below.

Capture.JPGCapture1 - Copy.JPG

Above is the format I have the title of the column in the table. The pic is a jpeg link the crossed out part is just the name.

The Image's data under Image should say "ThisItem.Image." With no quotes.

Yes, once you make the column called Image [image], you should be able to set the Image2 dropdown to Image.

In the excel document? So it should be ThisItem.Image./Pic/Name.jpg
