Testing Dataverse Security Roles

How do you go about testing your Dataverse Security Roles?  I am working in a Dev environment and have the System Administrator role for that environment.  I have created some different Security Roles that I want to test to confirm they they can see the records I would expect them to see and to verify I have set up the permissions as desired for each Security Role.  However, I can't figure out how I can perform that verification/testing myself since I am a System Administrator.  I don't have the ability to add records to the Users table, as that seems to be populated automatically based on who has been assigned Power Apps per User licenses.  Do I have to get someone else who is not a System Admin to perform all of the testing?

The way I go about testing security roles is by setting up a meeting with other users.
Within this meeting you give the respective roles to the other users and let them test.

If you want to test it yourself, you will need someone else with the correct admin roles to temporarily remove your admin permissions during the test session.

I hope this helps!

Thank you so much for responding.  I was afraid that would be the answer.  😒

Hi @AmyCradic23,

I faced the same issue and by mistake I have assigned myself as basic user and removed my role as System Admin from my environment which caused to remove my System Admin role globally and I lost all access and permissions. So you have to assign someone else the basic user role to test that role.
