Text boxes not always active (User can't enter text)

This is a recurring problem that seems to be getting worse and affects all users of my apps regardless of app opened, operating system and browser used.

 

When loading the app the text boxes are inaccessible (as if read only) and the user has to refresh their browser (sometimes several times) to allow them to enter text. 

 

Buttons, gallaries and dropdowns don't appear to be affected.

 

Any one else getting the same problem?

And if yes is there a way to fix it?

Hi @GaryEden ,

 

Have you tested with other web browsers/devices? I haven't seen this issue nearly and I cannot reproduce your issue.

I have around 25 users and 7 Apps.

Across the range we have a mixture of Windows with Firefox, Chrome, IE11 & Edge and Mac with Safari & Firefox.

 

Almost all users have encountered the problem at some point over the last month in one or more of the apps. Unfortunately, there is no pattern to the occurances even to the point that one individual can experience the problem while another sat next to them doesn't.

 

It seems that the App doesn't fully load (missing dependancy maybe?) which is probably why refreshing the browser gets it to work again.

 

I'm not sure if this makes a difference?

All of my Apps use Collections populated by a mixture of direct calls to the (Azure) SQL database tables and/or via flow (for stored proceedures and large data sets (over 500 rows)). The Collections cache the data used through the Apps - makes them run much faster, fewer database calls and overcomes the 500 row limit.

 

On the loading/splash page I have a loading spinner (& load timer) to prevent users navigating the Apps until all data is loaded. So I don't think that the problem is caused by missing data fields.

Out of interest, are there any debugging tools that can be enabled/added to the Apps to help track down the likely cause?
