The additional Licenses required for ON-PREMISE EXCHANGE to use power apps & power automates standard connectors & About Bar code scanner feature

The customer have ON-PREMISE EXCHANGE, we have an power app designed with standard connectors like Office 365 outlook, Sharepoint list, Office 365 users.

So what additional/required licenses the customer need to use here for app & to get mails triggered by power automate using Office 365 outlook connector & above mentioned connectors.

Does the 'BARCODE SCANNER' control in power apps comes under premium? And is it still under EXPERIMENTAL ? or we can use this completely in designing applications actively.

Kindly provide the information . Expecting quick response. Thanks in advance

Power Apps has the ability to read barcodes but there is no built-in functionality to create barcodes.  There are a variety of Web based applications that can generate QR codes and you can call one of them from a Power Automate flow.  Here's an article that discusses the process.

Its not a matter of licensing.  The problem is that Power Apps isn't designed to work with an on-premises Exchange Server.  For the app to be able to retrieve emails the mailbox needs to be in Exchange Online. So the users would just need a Microsoft 365 license.

Also, the Barcode Scanner control isn't premium.  It is included with the standard license.  It is currently GA, not Experimental.  However, it is only supported on IOS and Android devices.

Thank you @Pstork1 , for the quick response , so migrating from on-premise exchange server to exchange online will be the only solution right? And then they can have Microsoft 365 E1 for this right? As it uses only standard connectors.

And requesting to provide any material for the same, to show the end users or this message from community should be fine?

And regarding the Barcode Scanner, I have a booking app & shift roaster app , so once the bookings, shifts is assigned for each users, need to generate unique QR code on mail for each employee , based on their bookings & shift assigned. So when they come to office they can authenticate to security guard/to a system by use this Barcode Scanner control in power apps.

So how can we do this using power apps /automate . Kindly suggest, it would be helpful

An E1 should be sufficient and depending on what you are doing with mail they may be able to get away with a hybrid Exchange environment.  The list of what Office 365 licenses can do is in this web site and in the Power Platform licensing guide that is referenced there. Licensing overview for Microsoft Power Platform - Power Platform | Microsoft Docs

As I said the barcode scanner will only work with IOS and Android devices so you would need the security guards to be using either IOS or Android tablets.  Other than that the QR codes are standard QR codes.  The Barcode reader reads them, but it doesn't generate them. For that you would need a different application or a website that generates barcodes.

Thank you @Pstork1  for the response.

Completely get it about the bar code scanner. Thank you for the document on the O365 Licenses .

But 1 clarification, so not restricting to bar code scanner but usually. Need to generate unique QR code on mail for each employee , based on their bookings & shift assigned or triggering mail to employees on some conditions.

Is it possible using power apps or power automate to generate the QR code as authentication , for each employee a different QR code. So you say this kind of feature isn't feasible using the power apps or automate?

Kindly help, for me to be clear
