The column 'Value' of the table wasn't found

Afternoon All,

My application works fine in play mode on the computer, but then comes up with the below errors when running it from the phone.

"The requested operation is invalid. Server Response: The Column 'Value' of the table wasn't found."

I've identified it being the below code.

Item=SortByColumns((Filter('[dbo].[MGLocation]',StartsWith(LOCATIONNAME,(Text(Source2ndLvlDropDown.Selected.Value,Text))),(STATUS="A"||(STATUS="DEV")||(STATUS="STO")||(STATUS="BF")||(STATUS="SUMP"))),"LOCATIONNAME",Descending)

The whole idea is for a user to selected from a DropDown Menu (Source2ndLvlDropDown) for a level.

Then select the location using this DropDown Menu (based on the above DropDown Menu as the location starts with the level), then filters the locations and orders the resulting locations.

FYI, the "MGLocation" database has ~800-850 locations or records.

Cheers,

Dave

Re: The column 'Value' of the table wasn't found

Hi @Anonymous,

Could you please share more details about the error message within your phone device?

Please take a try to modify your formula within the Items property of the Gallery control as below:

SortByColumns(
Filter(
'[dbo].[MGLocation]',
StartsWith(LOCATIONNAME,Text(Source2ndLvlDropDown.Selected.Value)),
STATUS="A"|| STATUS="DEV" || STATUS="STO" || STATUS="BF" || STATUS="SUMP"
),
"LOCATIONNAME",
Descending
)

then check if the issue is solved.

Please also take a try to turn off/disable the "Explicit column selection" option and "Delayed load" option within the Advanced settings of App settings, then check if the issue is solved.

In addition, please also check if the version of PowerApps Mobile App within your Mobile device is the latest version, if not, please upgrade it into the latest version, then check if the issue is solved.

Please also take a try to uninstall PowerApps Mobile App from your Mobile Device, then re-install it, try your app again to check if the issue is solved.

Best regards,

Kris

Re: The column 'Value' of the table wasn't found

Afternoon Kris,

I made the required changes to the code, but I also had to select "LOCATIONNAME" from the "Items" -> "Value" section to provide the LOCATIONNAME. (It was automatically providing another column)

I also turned off both the "Explicit column selection" and "Delayed load".

By doing only the above, the application now works.

Thanks once again for your help in the matter.

Cheers,

Dave

Re: The column 'Value' of the table wasn't found

I had same issue and resolved by turning off/disable the "Explicit column selection" option and "Delayed load" option within the Advanced settings of App settings.  I don't remember checking it, and had no idea of ramifications.

I had the same issues also.

As a test I renamed the column in my Azure SQL database table as "Value" and it worked.
