The difference between PowerApps for Office365 and MS PowerApps Plan 2 Trial

Dear Sir / Madam

I would like to know the differences between the both.

And I have a user who has both licenses granted, but the user received the free trials expiration email (please see the attached screenshot). Why the user had received the email and why it's going to expire?

Thank you.

Best regards

YunKuen

Hi @YunKuen ,

Based on the issue that you mentioned, it seems to tell that your PowerApps Free Trial License would be expired soon. Currently, for PowerApps Free Trial License, it is only valid for 30 days.

When the PowerApps Free Trial License is expired, if your account has Office 365 license include PowerApps, or Dynamics 365 license include PowerApps, you would still be able to access PowerApps limited features.

Please check the following article for more details:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/powerapps-flow-licensing-faq

For PowerApps Free Trial License, it could use all functionalities released in PowerApps, including custom connector, premier connector, On-premises connector. But for PowerApps for Office 365 license, it could only use limited features in PowerApps, please check the following article for more details:

Power Apps is available under different plans.

PowerApps with Office365 allows you to to connect to make apps with in the context of Office365 and only use Office365 connectors.

PowerApps Plan2 allows you to use all features including premium connectors and CDS.

The reason you get this email could be because you have a trial license assigned to the User for PowerApps Plan 2 which is expiring.

If the user has a Power Apps for Office365 assigned to him he will have access to the environment still but the features of Power Apps for Office365 license only.

Dear Rahber

Thank you for the reply. Do you means MS PowerApps Plan 2 Trial is valid for 90 days only?

The user has been granted with Office 365 E3 (included PowerApps for Office365) and MS PowerApps Plan 2 Trial.

If PowerApps Plan 2 Trial is valid for 90 days, does the user still can access to the PowerApps?

Stay safe.

YunKuen

Yes. As the name suggested its Trial and it will expire after 30 or 90 days (It used to be 90 but now the documentations says only 30 days)

IF you have assigned the PowerApps for Office365 license, after the trial expires the user will still have access to PowerApps but with the features that are supported in PowerApps for Office365 License only.

Dear Support

Thank you for your reply.

Does Microsoft has the documentation or website to explain what does PowerApps for Office 365 included?

I can only found per app plan & per user plan at https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/
