Transaction Rollback Issue

Hello,

I am not sure why but my app stopped working properly after coming back from vacation.

The offending code seems to be:

Collect(Order_Details,colOrderDetails);

My collection has the same number of fields as my SharePoint list. This code is supposed to update the SharePoint list but instead my transaction rolls back due to some unknown error. The only error message I see is the following:

The requested operation is invalid. Server

Response: Order_Details failed: Fetching items

failed. Possible invalid string in filter query.

clientRequestId: d44e731c-3758-4deo-8046-

a0af546e46db serviceRequestld: d44e731c-

3758-4deo-8046-aoaf546e46db

Has one ever experienced this type of error before? I need a solution fast as my app is slated for production next week.

I have tried the following things:

  • downloading and importing my app under a new name
  • recreating my SharePoint list
  • recreating my button and code in a different screen

Going back to an earlier version helped for a while but the problem came back after the app auto-updated. Could my app be corrupt?

Re: Transaction Rollback Issue

@Delminium ,

I assume you mean using Collect() to add new records to a SharePoint list from the contents of a collection is no longer working?

Strangely that happened to me last week and I reverted to a Patch instead. My collection was a fairly complex construction with GroupBy, AddColumns and RenameColumns, but another simpler one still works fine. Could be a bug, but I m fairly pragmatic and moved on with something that worked.

Re: Transaction Rollback Issue

Try using ClearCollect( colOrderDetails, Order_Details)

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I don't think that will work. I'm not trying to update my collection but rather, submit to my SharePoint list the updated items in my collection.

Re: Transaction Rollback Issue

That is exactly what I gave. Means you didn't use the formula I gave. Can you try using the formula in my response

Re: Transaction Rollback Issue

@eka24

Unfortunately, I tried your example with no luck. ClearCollect does not work for updating a SharePoint list. In this case, ClearCollect updated my collection with all the records in my SharePoint list.

I load my collection at the App OnStart event using the ClearCollect function.

I make some edits to my collection and then click Update. For some reason Power Apps does not like my Collect function any more and I am trying to figure out why it won't work anymore.

I appreciate your help. Thank you.

Re: Transaction Rollback Issue

@WarrenBelz

Thank you for your response.

Yes, it seems like reverting back to Patch worked for me as well. Had to reach out to Microsoft for some help on the issue and they actually recommended that I use Patch() over Collect(). I find this funny because I was using Patch() before. Patch() stopped working after I came back from vacation. Downgraded my version and switched to Collect() and all was fine for a while. Then Collect() stopped working for some reason. A little concerning considering I have an app going into production this week. We'll see I guess!
