Transfer PowerApps owner within the same organization

Hi,

I have created a PowerApp using my O365 L3 license. This app will be used by the company employees only.

My Questions:

  1. In the future, if I leave the organization, what will happen to this app? Will others still be able to use it?
  2. If somebody would like to make upgrades need to the app, how could they do it?
  3. Is there a way to transfer all the ownership rights to another person?

Regards,

Aakash

1. Yes they will be able to use it

2. You can make that person a co-owner when sharing

4. You can export the App and let the person import it. In that case he becomes the owner.

@Anonymous ,

I will add a small contribution to @eka24 's summary.

Get a generic service account and make this the owner of all Power Apps, Flows and Environments. You then only have to pass on the password. You have to create everything on this account, but once ownership is shared, you can edit things under your own account.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Just to add a bit.

Here is an out of box PowerApps Tools Kit, named "Center of Excellence Starter Kit". There is a set of templates that are designed to help develop a strategy for adopting, maintaining, and supporting the Power Platform.

Among them, 'Set New App Owner' App can help you easily manage shared users and assign the owner. Offical product, worth experiencing.

Hope this helps.

What happened to point 3? 🤔
Does the new owner have to export the app and import it as a "new" app, or does the co-ownership mean the app stays stable where it was, with all the same connections and permissions attached to it?
