Triggering PCF Control load after lookup field has been populated but not on Oncreate of form

Hi All,

"I have used the https://github.com/markcunninghamuk/PCF_Library/tree/main/controls/pcfcontroldemo/MultiSelectControl

on appointment form to add multiple contacts in a field. I have done some modification in filter to select contact based on account in Index.ts[(async notifySearch(newValuestring) function]  which is working fine .

The Problem is it is working only once we select the account and save/refresh the form, no on OnCreate of form or on Select of account.

So, first we have to save the account and refresh the page to see the related contacts. Not only this our pcf is refelcting multiple contacts once we add it and refresh the page on a field. In a Nutshell it is wokring on Onsave/refresh.

Could you please help  and give the idea on how to make it work on Oncreate ?

@a33ik So basically  there is a function notify search where it goes when we save the form or refresh it or search/type in pcf field.

Now the problem is we want to get the contacts based on account which is happening in mentioned details.

Can you please help us here

Hello,

I'm sorry, I read the thread but I wasn't able to understand what your goals are and what issues you experience.

It might help if you provide either a more detailed explanation or screenshots/sketches of what you're trying to achieve.

I would recommend troubleshooting what you have. It shouldn't be something complicated. Unfortunately, I don't see anything obvious.

@a33ik

Thanks for you comment.

Could you please let me know if it is possible to call the pcf (written on 'pcf demo') field when we change the account .I mean to say, onchange of account .

Can you please share some snippet or idea that we can implement in the pcf code .

One is notifyoutchange and notify search which is getting called when we are doing the changes to 'pcf demo' field as our pcf control is registered on it.

Is it possibel to include other field like account and call/trigger the pcf on registered field

It's not possible to "call" the PCF. If you want your code to handle changes of field - stop using Xrm.Page.getAttribute approach in the code of the control and add one more bound property of lookup type and handle that change in updateView method.

thanks for the suggestion , I will try to do it and let u know. Meanwhile, if you can provide any supporting link so that I can follow and execute it

Hi @a33ik @DianaBirkelbach (Hi diana , tagging for help aprt from Andrew),

Thanks for your suggestion. I have added the account lookup as bound property and updated the update view.

I am able to get the current account value only when I hit the pcfdemo field not the vice versa. I want my pcf to trigger on change of account which is another field so that my pcf triggers and give the right set of associated contact.

So update view us updated with the new account only when we are searching/refreshing the pcfdemo field. We need exactly opposite of it ;when we change the account on the form , our pcf gets trigger and update with right filter.

2nd scenario that suffice our need is , as we from my screenshots/attahcement, that this pcf is working perfectly in all condition but clicking on dropdown. So, if we just click the down-arrow andit hits the pcf then it iwll automatically filter the assoicated account @DianaBirkelbach Please see the attahcement in my previous reply.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks in advance
