Trouble populating my powerapp gallery data to my Sharepoint List

Hi there

Hoping someone can assist me.

I'm VERY new to PowerApps and just teaching myself as I go.

My PowerApps data is not populating my SharePoint list at all. It is connected as I can see the 3 little marks suggesting a new row is loading and clicking on details shows the row number has increased but nothing is displayed.

What could be causing this?

Any assistance would be so greatly appreciated.

it somehow has to reference the bar code reader's Barcodes.Value. I would think that in the OnScan it could reference itself....as I was typing I had a thought... try Self.Barcodes.Value.....

Hi @leeguth

Could it be because there are other fields in my Review screen gallery?

As you can see, my first three fields remain empty.

The other fields are populated from options selected by the user on an earlier screen (plus date/time)?

Here they are meant to review all details before submitting.

no, those three you will eventually get from the split collection. In the OnScan, you are trying to access what the reader captured...but since you are in the reader during the OnScan that's why I thought maybe it was Self.Barcodes.Value. I'll poke around and see if I can find something...

ok, I think I have it...hopefully. Again, I can only test using the default reader, but I tried putting a Set in the OnScan to see how I could get the Value that was read and was able to get it.  So....put First(Self.Barcodes).Value in place of TextInput.Text and see if you get it. I set it to a variable and then could display it as a label, so I'm hoping it will work....this would only work if you are only able to scan one thing at a time (I think)...

OMG You are a legend!!

I can't believe it!!

I now have 2 out of 3.😊

For some reason the id field didn't populate???? The other 2 did.

They are set the same though so odd! I will look further,

THANKS SO MUCH!! 🙏

getting closer!! do you have the gallery like I did for after the split (only for debugging)? It would show if it split it out or not. It could be the string isn't exactly the way you thought...if a " (quote) is not right then it could be grabbing the wrong number. I grabbed 4, 8, and 12 - maybe it's off.

Wow @leeguth Thanks so so so much!

I am so grateful.

I simply changed the font size & turned wrap off and it's now there. 😊

Next challenge for me will be sending it to SP but I feel like the hardest part has been completed.

The all-nighter was worth it!! 🤪😴

Thanks again! 🙏

I'm glad it's working! The Patch tp SP 'should' be easy...lol.  Good luck!

You're welcome!

Hey @leeguth

Would you happen to know what this means:

SM17_0-1697775954700.png

Happy to open a new ticket if you prefer.

Cheers 😊

it looks like your submit (so guessing patch) button isn't right. It could be almost anything: invalid setting of a field, missing mandatory column/field,etc.

It didn't seem like you were going to be saving a lot...you could try saving a field or two and then keep adding until you figure out which one is the issue.
