Unable to remove connection to Word Online (Business)

Hello,

Recently, I ran my app using the web link and it showed the message "This app uses features that come with a Power Apps premium plan. Start a trial to use these features."  Ultimately, I need to remove the Premium License Designation, so that users with a standard license can access the app.

I had a few flows using the Word Online (Business) connector (not sure how I was allowed to do this since .  I deleted this flow from Power Automate and from the app's Data Sources, but the connection to Word is still showing up.  In trying to troubleshoot this, I even removed all flows, and references to any flows, from the app and the connection to Word is still showing.

In addition, even though this flow no longer shows up in Power Automate, it shows up in Apps/[MyAppName]/Details/Flows (from https://make.powerapps.com/).  How do I remove these flows and connection to Word Online (Business) so that the Premium License Designation goes away?

Prompt assistance would be greatly appreciated.  Thank You!

Hi Jeffer,

Before save the app as local .msapp files, ensure to remove the flow connections in data source panel of Studio, remove all formulas that reference that flow, delete all related connections in connections tab (under 'Data') in PowerApps.

Hi @ktom ,

Please refer to the following steps to remove the connection parts.

Export the Flow as package, comes down as a compressed folder (zip), extract the contents of the compressed folder (zip).

In the root of the folder you will find a "manifest.json" in there is a "dependsOn":[] section, simply remove the all connection parts.

Snipaste_2020-08-21_17-23-04.png

Then under --> Microsoft.Flow --> flows --> {someID} --> {someID}.json . Open up the json file and look for the section

"connectionReferences":{} again remove all the connections.

Then save the modified files back the folder with the same names, then making sure the manifest.json file and Microsoft.Flow folder are in root, compress(zip) the folder back down.

Import/Upload the compressed folder (zip) back into Flow.

Hope this helps.

Sik

Hi Sik,

I've found the .json files mentioned and removed the connections from the dependentOn and connectionReferences sections (as described below), but get an error when trying to Upload/Import the .zip back into Flow.

dependsOn:  cleared 3 instances from manifest.json
Capture.PNG

connectionReferences:  cleared 1 instance from /MicrosoftFlow/Flow/definition.json
Capture2.PNG

I zipped the manifest.json file and Microsoft.Flow folder so that they are in the root and attempted to Upload/Import the package, but get the error below.
Capture3.PNG

Please advise.

Hi @ktom ,

To delete Connection, you need to return to the home screen. Deleting connection from inside the App doesn't permanently delete them. Go to the connections tab (under 'Data') and you should find all of your connections, even if they are or aren't in use. There, Find the Word Online (Business) connection, click on the three dots and permanently delete them.

And then, you can try to save the app to local as '.msapp' file after deleting all flow connection and reference on it, and then re-open the msapp in PowerApps studio to store as a new app.

Hope this helps.

Sik

I've saved the app as a local .msapp file, but specifically what are the steps to delete "all flow connection and reference on it".

Thank you.
