Unable to view attachments in published powerapps

Hi,

I have created an App where users need to add an attachment (excel).

When I try to open the attachment nothing happens. I have tried to find a solution for this with no luck. Seems very unlikely that Microsoft hasn't thought of this 😳

Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks for reading.

regards,

Trond

Re: Unable to view attachments in published powerapps

How are you trying to access the attachments? Is it in a gallery or a form or some other way?

Can u share a screenshot? Do you see the list of attachments but nothing happens when you click on any one of them?

Hi @PowerAddict ,

This is the APP and when I click the attachment nothing happens:

However, when I open the app in browser (Google Chrome) the attachment is downloaded.

This seems like a view form. At the top right corner, I see you have an edit button which i assume is used to make this an edit form. What happens when you get the form in the edit mode? Are you then able to click on the attachments?

Re: Unable to view attachments in published powerapps

Hi @PowerAddict ,

You are right. This makes the form editable but still I'm not able to open or download the attachment.

When I open the app in a browser (Chrome) I'm able to download both in view and edit mode, but I need to find a solution to view the attachments when opening it as an installed APP. Frustrating :(.

Thanks for looking in to this 🙂

Re: Unable to view attachments in published powerapps

No worries, glad to help. How are you accessing the app? Asking because you said it works when you access it though a browser, so was wondering how you access it.

I have downloaded the APP from Microsoft Store (Poweraoos) and are accessing it through my windows Start-menu.

Re: Unable to view attachments in published powerapps

Got it. The Windows app will be deprecated sometime in 2020. I had a ticket open with Microsoft for months and that was the official response. A new Windows app will be released in late 2020. So I would say you probably wouldnt get much help. I will still try and test it out as soon as I get in front of a computer.
