Unable to view selected CDS record

We've been fighting with this for sometime and can't figure out what's happening. We have a Caller field which is populated with Contacts. We've tried different formulas for the items, but have simplified it back to the original of

Choices([@'Work Orders_1'].Caller)

This is what we get in the dev space:

Here it is in the play space:

Delegation warnings aside (we're only dealing with < 200 records currently, though we'll need to address that later), why can't we get the caller field to display the contact record?

Additional Info:

I started profiling the published app and I'm noticing that the field doesn't appear in the response when the entity is selected. What would prevent the attribute from being included?

Can you elaborate a little more? Is this a standalone canvas app or an embedded canvas app? Fo you have the Explicit Column setting set to true? Also, do you mean you are in the editor/designer when you say dev space and you are playing the published app when you say play space?

Hi @PowerAddict 

This is a stand-alone canvas app. You're correct about editor/dev and play/production references. Explicit selection is currently off, but it had been on previously. I'd seen another post that suggested removing that option and Delayed Load as possible solutions, but neither helped.

There aren't any errors; we only see delegation warnings.
