Update SharePoint list field with a button click

Hi,

I am using custom PowerApps forms to add and update SharePoint lists data. I have the requirement of update a text fields with a button click.

Capture.PNG

As shown in the above image, textbox 1 is linked to SharePoint list field and textbox 2 is a simple textbox which is not connected to anything. My requirement is, when a user add a text to the textbox 2 and hit add, it should concatenate with the textbox 1 as shown above. Users would edit the form few times, so I couldn’t get this done by UpdateContext.

I may be overlooking something, and I appreciate if someone could assist me on this matter.

Thank you in advance!

Re: Update SharePoint list field with a button click

Which form you used here?

The SharePoint list form,

Or the EditForm control within Apps?

The basic step for your requirement should be:

1. Find the proper record,

2. use Patch to update the field.

For different forms ,the record is different.

For example, if you here use the Editform control built from Connect to Data, then the record should be:

gallery.selected,

so the patch function should be:

patch(SharePointList,
Gallery.Selected,
{TextField:Concatenate(Gallery.Selected.FieldName, Char(13), TextInput2.Text)})
