Currently I have a PowerApps that updates a SP list every time someone adds a meeting, contact, etc.
I have a Power BI report running based on the entries on SP. That's obviously not the most efficient / effective approach given that BI will only update daily from SP.
I want to just have the app users add the meetings, contacts etc directly to the SQL server item. I'm connected to SQL but not sure how to make the updates or if you can do that.
Thanks in advance.
Hello @Anonymous ,
You can use update functions to map SharePoint results to SQL. To use SQL connector, you need Onprem data gateway installed, and a PowerApps per user license as its a Premium connector.
Another way would be to use Power Automate to trigger from PowerApps and add action to add or update row in SQL.
Let us know if either of the ideas work for you 🙂
Thank you. I was trying to eliminate SharePoint all together and have updates made directly to SQL.
I thought there was a way to use Patch to get this done. Thoughts?
Thank you on the PA option. I will explore that as well.
