Re: Update property error on combobox

@mdevaney

Yes, one-column table with the header being Product_Category. Worth to mention, it is a view in SQL. Not sure if that is a game changer?

Re: Update property error on combobox

My current theory is because each of your SQL tables has a different column name. See post 10. Column names Product, Product_Category and Product_SubCategory should all be the same name your_column_name.

Then the update code would become
ComboBoxPromoItems.Selected.your_column_name

Of course you’d have to update your Switch() function to reflect this as well.

Ok, I fixed the column names to match in SQL (all three views) . This was done in SQL not the Rename() function.  All read like this "Promo_on_ItemsCategoryName". I also changed the Switch() function to reflect the changes. Now, the combobox drops down and it looks like there is something in it but blank, sort of like a white font if that makes sense?

Ok, here's the scoop. This is strange.

Based on my last reply about the blank/white font stuff. I tried selecting one even though I can't see it. Smiley Indifferent

I then submitted the form, went to SQL and checked the data. Guess what? It is there! Wow! Now, I have a different issue. Smiley LOL

Do you know what that might be?

@baller72

You are seeing blank options because you also have to change these properties of your ComboBox.  PowerApps is not smart enough to do it automatically

DisplayFields

["your_column_name"]

SearchFields

["your_column_name"]

No problem at all!  I'm just happy to help people solve their problems with PowerApps.  I do love beer but your gratitude is payment enough.

Once you feel comfortable in PowerApps you shoul jump right in and start answering questions too!  I have found participating in the forum and answering questions is an excellent way to learn.
