Updating Sharepoint list from PowerApp check box

Hi,

I have checkbox controls in PowerApps form.

I would like to know how to save the data selected in the CheckBox controls at PowerApps to Sharepoint List.

Example: Say I have 2 checkbox with values Apple and Orange.

                      Similarly, I have the values in a Sharepoint DropDown column.

                      So, if I have select either one or both the  values, then the selection to be updated in the Sharpeoint List.

Re: Updating Sharepoint list from PowerApp check box

Hi @AravindGanesan,

Could you please share a bit more about the SharePoint Dropdown column that you mentioned? Is it a Choice type column?

Which column do you want to save the Checkbox value to? A Single line of text type column or a Choice type column?

If you want to save the Checkbox value into a Single line of Text column of your SP list, please check the following workaround:9.JPG

Set the OnCheck property of the Checkbox control to following formula:

Patch(
'20181015_case13',
Defaults('20181015_case13'),
{
Title:"PowerApps Test",
ColorValue:Checkbox1.Text
}
)

On your side, you should type:

Patch(
'YourSPList',
Defaults('YourSPList'),
{
Title:"PowerApps Test",
YourSingleColumn: Checkbox1.Text
}
)

Note: The YourSingleColumn represents the Single line of text column you want to save your Checkbox value to.

If you want to save the Checkbox value to a Choice type column of your SP list, please take a try with the following workaround:10.JPG

Set the OnCheck property of the Checkbox control to following:

Patch(
    '20181015_case13',
    Defaults('20181015_case13'),
    {
        Title:"PowerApps Test",
        FruitChoice:{
            '@odata.type':"#Microsoft.Azure.Connectors.SharePoint.SPListExpandedReference",
            Value: Checkbox2.Text
        }
    }
)

On your side, you should type following formula:

Patch(
    'YourSPList',
    Defaults('YourSPList'),
    {
        Title:"PowerApps Test",
        ChoiceColumn:{
            '@odata.type':"#Microsoft.Azure.Connectors.SharePoint.SPListExpandedReference",
            Value: Checkbox2.Text
        }
    }
)

Note: The ChoiceColumn represents the Choice type column in your SP list.

@v-xida-msft

Hi. I have a silly question. For the part of the formula Title: "PowerApps Test", what is that? I have been looking for a syntax on the Patch and non have anything similar.

Thank you.

Re: Updating Sharepoint list from PowerApp check box

I have used the way you suggested , but in my case it is adding a new row. But i want to update a particular row's column value. How I can do this?
