Updating a Spreadsheet from Lists of Data based on User Selection

Hopefully someone can help:

We're trying to create an app that tracks finish selections for an apartment. The user will need to be able to select a specific apartment, followed by the rooms and then choose finish options (i.e. flooring/paint). However, the app needs to retain the ability to modify these selections in the future - ideally selecting finishes will be tied to unit prices that will automatically sum with quantities while working with the app.

Currently we're experiencing troubles utilizing the "Edit Form" function. Every time we navigate to the screen where users would begin to make their choices, the form area says "no data to display." We have gone through several tutorials and still cannot figure it out.

We so far have been able to make the process of selecting a floor -> unit -> room but now need help creating a process to update the finish selections based on user input. How do we set up the actions for successfuly navigating to the edit form field and from there to finish options (flooring 1, flooring 2, etc.)  that update the spreadsheet with choices once selected.

Hi @amgravs2

Edit Forms, Display Forms,...are something can be created automatically and then, Unlock to modify / Edit to suit your needs.

This: https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/tutorials/working-with-forms/

in fact, is very clear on how to:

- Create New(Form1)

- Edit EditForm1

- Submit (Form1), etc.

I hope you can look at this.

Hi @amgravs2,

What is your current situation?

In addition to the article share by hpkeong, please also check the following article:

Edit form and Display form controls in PowerApps

If you would like to Edit the record, we need to change the form mode of EditFrom control into Edit mode.

And specify the corresponding record under the item property with the one you would like to work with.

If you need any further help on this, please feel free to post back.

Regards,

Michael

Re: Updating a Spreadsheet from Lists of Data based on User Selection

After reading through all of the links, we managed to get the functionality by creating the app using the "Start with Data" options rather than a blank template. Thanks for the help.
