User().FullName not populating for phone

I have a screen with an edit form pulling from SharePoint. I have a single-line text column called "User" as a card with default value set to User().FullName. All pretty standard stuff so far.

My issue is that when I run my app on my phone and submit the form to SharePoint, the "User" field doesn't populate. When I run the app in PowerApps Studio (desktop OR browser) it populates the item with no problems.

I'm using Google Pixel (Android Nougat 7.1.2)

Any thoughts?

There may be a bug here, but in any case the following approach improves performance of any app:

1) Set the OnStart property of the first screen to:

ClearCollect(CurrentUser, User())

2) Anywhere in the app use the following instead of User().FullName etc.

First(CurrentUser).FullName

This is because it calls the User() function once at the beginning, and not every time the function is used in the app.

Hope this helps.

Hi mchien,

I create a similar app according to your description. Then I run the app on PowerApps studio, it works fine. When I run it on iOS(version 10.3.2) and Android(version 7.0), the app also works fine.

PowerApps version on my mobile device is 2.0.560. What’s the version of PowerApps on your phone?

I don’t have a Google Pixel (Android Nougat 7.1.2) to test this issue, please provide your Session ID, I will be trying to involve someone to take a look into this issue.

You could get the Session ID under File>Account>Diagnostics>Session details.

However, i have tried Meneghino's suggestion and it worked for me.

Thanks Meneghino!

I experienced this issue on phone and tablet, but the issue went away when I changed DisplayMode from Disabled to View.
