Users unable to submit forms to SQL Server

I've created an app to read/write to a SQL server. After sharing it with a test group that doesn't have direct access to the sql server, they cannot submit forms (PowerApps says they don't have permission, after pressing submit button). I want anyone using the app to be able to submit to the db through PA, even if they don't have direct access to the db. Is this possible?

No. They must have a connector with access to the data in order to access the data. If this is setup by them, or an explicitly Shared connector that you have configured on the app when you share it, they can use it. You could make this connector have minimal permissions but this is the one downside to SQL Connector is the security as SharePoint can have user level permissions to the item level, and so can Dataverse based on logged in user.
