Using PowerApps Gallery with PowerBi data

I am designing my first app with Bi integration and need a hand.

I have a dataset and report created in Bi with the following columns:

Unit Number, Model, Rent_Rate, Class

I am looking to search this data from a new gallery page within my power app but so far I am not able to get the returned results.

I would prefer to be able to search by any of the fields above if possible.

I appreciate any guidance as this one seems simple but I just can't figure it out.

Hi @chriskent ,

Do you embed an canvas app into your BI report based on these checked Unit Number, Model, Rent_Rate, Class column using "PowerApps Custom Visual" option?

Further, do you want to search by any of these fields within your Gallery?

I have made a test on my side, please take a try with the following workaround (add a TextInput box in your app to act as TextSearchBox) :

If the Unit Number, Model, Rent_Rate, Class columns are all Text type column in your data source, please set the Items property of Gallery to following:

Search(PowerBIIntegration.Data, TextSearchBox1.Text, "Unit Number", "Rent_Rate", "Class")

If not all of these columns are Text type column, I think the Filter function could achieve your needs. Please modify above formula as below:

Filter(
        PowerBIIntegration.Data,
        TextSearchBox1.Text in 'Unit Number' ||
        TextSearchBox1.Text in Model ||
        TextSearchBox1.Text in Rent_Rate ||
        TextSearchBox1.Text in Class
)

Please take a try with above solution, then check if the issue is solved.

This resolved my issue on the computer (using Chrome) however it will not display the list on the mobile device via the PowerApp.

Any ideas why this might be?

Hi! Were you able to display data from the dataset into a gallery? How is it done?

I’ve tried adding powerbi as a datasource but my only option is to call addrows and refresh.

Thanks!

When I bind the PowerBi Integration object to a gallery control, it does not give me any columns inside the dataset to bind it to gallery control
