Using a dropdown control and writing to a sharepoint text

Hello all,

I am new to powerapps and have run into an issue I can't seem to solve.

Backend: Sharepoint

List 1: Vendor Field: Vendor Name

List 2: Employee: Field Vendor Name (Text Field)

I am using a dropdown in the Employee screen to lookup the list of vendors from the Vendor list. This works.

I am using my update statement to write back to the Employee list Vendor Name field. This is a text field on SharePoint. This works

I am unable to display the value that was populated into the Employee list Vendor Name text field back in the powerapps Employee Screen dropdown.

I have tried Parent.Default in the DefaultSelectedItems and Default sections.

I have tried Thisitem.Vendor_Name on those sections as well.

I have tried that on the Datacard level and and dropdown.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Thank you for responding. I actually just got it fixed. It was my dropdown contol. I eventually stopped trying to figure what was wrong and re-created the dropdown. Thisitem.Vendor_Lookup in the default on the dropdown ended up working after I re-created it. Guess I should have re-created it earlier.
