Using dropdown and filter on other dropdown.

Hey, im a beginnen developer on PowerApps and have a question. Im not sure the title says enough but here we go.

I have a simple app at the moment where people can only enter data to my sharepoint list. In the sharepoint list there are a couple values among: Department, Team, KPI.

I made sure i got the department from my office365 connection and should be able to work with that. Id like to make sure that when someone uses the app and has to select a team, he will only see teams connected to his Department. And after he would also only see KPI's connected to his Team.

Im not sure how to do this, if at all this is possible.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @EricHulshof

On which property are you getting this error?

Also, if you are trying to extract the value from selected item, then you need to use Dropdown1.Selected.Result

Hope this Helps!

Re: Using dropdown and filter on other dropdown.

Hi @EricHulshof

For this, you can setdropdown controls Items property like:

Department: Distinct(DataSource, Deaprtment)

Team: Distinct(Filter(DataSource, Department = Dropdown1.Selected.Result),Team)

KPI: Distinct(Filter(DataSource, Department = Dropdown1.Selected.Result && Team = Dropdown2.Selected.Result),KPI)

Hope this Helps!

@yashag2255

I believe this could work but my app keeps telling me its expecting text or numbers and im feeding him  records when i use the Distinct function.

Is there a way to make them text instead of records?

Thankyou.
