Values when Editing MS List resetting to default values

Hello,

I have created a customized form in Sharepoint Lists for an onboarding demo. When I submit the form, everything works perfectly. However, when I try to edit the line item in SP itself, I have issues. My First Name, Last Name, and Email text inputs all retain the value I previously inputted but my Phone # does not -- it resets back to the default (i.e. only the hint text). How can I retain the phone number I submitted in there before?

Additionally, do you know how to retain all of the selected dropdown options as well? I have numerous dropdowns in my list such as Status.  As seen in the picture above, the status is currently set to EOD TBD. Right now, whenever I edit the line item, Status resets back to "Default". I feel like this is a simple issue but I am having major issues.

Any help you could provide would be much appreciated!

Thank you!

For the dropdowns, yes, they must be text.  So what is the underlying column type for those dropdowns?  I will assume a choice column because you are getting a record back.

With a record, it is easier to work with a combobox rather than the dropdown, but if you stick with the dropdown, then you need to change the Default to ThisItem.yourColumnName.Value

What is the Default property of your phone number control?

Also, the Default property of your Status or other dropdowns?

The Default Property of my phone number control is:

formattedNumber

This variable was set in the OnChange control as:

Set(formattedNumber, Text(Value(ti_phone1.Text), "[$-en-US](###) ###-####"))

The Default Value for my dropdown datacards (i.e. Status_DataCard) is ThisItem.Status

The Default Value for the dropdown itself is blank.

@Masonf2265

Change your phone number default to:

Coalesce(formattedNumber, Parent.Default)

The Default of your dropdowns should be: Parent.Default

The phone number worked!!!

However, I am getting an error message when putting Parent.Default in the dropdowns. "Expect Text Value" Data Type: Record
