When should I care for Environment settings ? Is it meant for mainly model driven apps or canvas apps?

Hello,

I see that there are bunch of environments settings available in PPAC as indicated below:

I was wondering, when should I care about changing these settings overall? Are they only meant for Model Driven Apps/D365 or canvas apps? Is it a good practice to update these settings? What happens if we do not?

Thank you in advance!

Regards,

Hi @dave8 ,

Do you want to know more about environment?

Actually, this works for both canvas app and model driven app.

Firstly, let me explain to you about what is environment.

Environment is a place to store data and apps.

Data and apps stored in different environment is separated.

Using environment could help you manage apps, permission and so on.

No matter you want to create canvas app or model driven app, you need to firstly choose environment that you want to create the app.

Secondly, the settings about environment.

These settings that you listed are all environment-level, which means that work for all data and apps inside the environment, no matter canvas app or model driven app.

For example, if you want to change a user's permission in this environment, you need to set this in user+permission part.

Here's a doc about management of environment for your reference:
