Win 10 PowerApps Desktop Won't Download from Attachment

I have been using the Desktop version of Power Apps (downloaded from the Microsoft Store) because I liked how it didn't seem to suspend the app in the background like the browser version did (as long as the window isn't minimized).

One issue I did find though is that the SharePoint Attachments Control refuses to download attachments from the Desktop version. You can click over the attachment and nothing happens. To bypass the attachments issue, I tried a gallery that is tied to the attachments of the selected item then having a button tied to a Download function that would concatenate the link to that attachment. Whenever I do this though, I only get an html file on the desktop version.

Has anyone found a way to make the Desktop version work with sharepoint attachments as far as downloading them to the PC?

Hi @AMH10 ,

Do you want to download files from the Attachments control within your PowerApps Desktop Client?

Actually, it is an known issue with Attachments in PowerApps Desktop Client. Currently, the Attachments control could only work within PowerApps for web.

If you want to download files from the Attachments control within your PowerApps Desktop Client, I afraid that there is no way to achieve your needs in PowerApps currently.

If you would like this feature to be added in PowerApps, please submit an idea to PowerApps Ideas Forum:

https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Power-Apps-Ideas/idb-p/PowerAppsIdeas

There are also some system requirements for running canvas app, please refer to the following article:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/limits-and-config

For your second question, I think this issue may be related to the download file URL Link value. The download file URL Link value specified within your Launch function is not point to a specific PDF file (e.g. https://.../../dummy.pdf). If the download file URL Link does not contain a specific PDF file name (e.g. dummy.pdf), when you download this file using PowerApps Desktop, your PC would not recognize it as PDF file.

Please check my response within the following thread for more details:

I'll pin it down to being a known glitch in the Desktop version. Thank you very much for your time and knowledge @v-xida-msft .
