Write data in excel

Hi,

I’m making my first app and I have some question...

I have an excel file with 3 fields (member, date, attachment) and i’d like to fill “members” with my office365 users list.

I’d also like to store the attachments in a folder on my Onedrive cloud.

I tried to set a dropdown field with my office365 user list but it didn’t save it in the excel file.

how can I solve?

thanks

Hi @lorenzobr ,

1)

Do you want to save user data from office365 in excel?

Since there's no data type like person field of sharepoint list in excel, so you could not directly save one person to excel.

Could you tell me what user data exactly that you want to save in excel?

I assume that you want to save user's email.

Could you tell me how do you want to search user's email?

I assume that you use a combo box.

Then you could set like this:

the combo box's Items:

Office365Users.SearchUserV2({searchTerm:ComboBox1.SearchText}).value

use this formula to update member field:

ComboBox1.Selected.Mail

2)Do you want to save file to excel file?

Please notice that: it's not supported to upload image to excel by using powerapps, other file type is not supported.

You need to:

upload excel to one drive

connect your app with this excel in cloud

create a field named: attachment[image]    in your excel

use an add picture control to choose image to upload

use this formula to update attachment field:

UploadedImage1.Image

Then the images will be saved in one folder of the one drive automatically.

Please notice that: you need to have read and write permission on this excel file.

Here's a doc about how to upload images to excel for your reference:
