Wrong fonts displayed

After publishing an existing powerapp to the latest version the used font looked different on a tablet (only used the default open sans font). After a test in a sperate powerapp it seems that most fonts are reverted to the same default font when the power app is opened on a mobile device. In the web studio when editing or running the powerapp the fonts looks fine. Apps published in hte previous version are ok, while new and republished apps show the wrong font.


Also, placing labels with a fill colour on a background with the same fill colour gives some black lining on the edge of the label. (I know I can just make the labels transparant 🙂 ). This also first ocurred when publishing to the latest version.

That thin border looks like the same one another user reported here .


Have you tried Classic render mode (File -> App Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Render in classic mode) to see how it looks?



I was able to reproduce your border/edge issue, and the switch to classic render mode did fix it.








Staff has asked for items to be reported that "classic render mode" fixes.  Hopefully this thread is picked up for you.



"Render in classic mode" does indeed resolve the borders.


It does not affect the display of the wrong font, that didn't change.

Same problem here. The values should be rendered in Open Sans but everything seems to default to Arial in the iOS app. Not only is the wrong font being rendered, the spacing required is different so many labels, etc. are being truncated because of this issue. This just began after the last update. Please advise ASAP.







I tested this on two android devices and an iOS, all gave the same result.

Thank you for bringing this up, and sorry for the inconvenience of not having your correct font show up. The team has acknowledged this issue and have a fix.

I just downloaded the latest update but this font bug still exists. When will this be fixed??? My clients continue to ask when this will be corrected.



the fix for this shipped as part of the 3.18073 release that went to the stores last week. To get the fix, this will require refreshing the local app cache that you have. We have a feature in the pipeline to allow you to force referesh that. For now, to do that, you have one of 2 options: reinstall the PowerApps mobile client or republish the app again from the studio, either one of those will fix this issue for you. let me know if it doesn't work and I can help debug more.

please enable improved app rendering from AppSettings and give it a try
