barcode scanner and reference a articlöe in a list

hi, I wanted to scan a barcode with a barcode scanner (it works so far), now I would like to compare this code with a barcode column in an article list and let me show the respective article in the details.

my sample was if (text (varSingleScan) = text (articleScan.Barcode); navigate (Screen2; ScreenTransition.Fade)).

what am I doing wrong? is not that just a comparison?

Kind regards
