calculating dynamic height of list input element

In my canvas app I have a list input element, answerList that I reuse multiple times. Each time it has an arbitrary number of options. I want the entire list to display without scrollbars. So I set  answerList.HeightSelf.Size*Self.LineHeight*2.2*optionCount. This is more or less good but starts to fail as the optionCount gets larger. I'd like a more accurate way to calculate the necessary height.

Ideas?
