cannot add option set to a form

i noticed that the "relational data, option sets, and other new features of cds" setting is now on by default for new apps.  my app does not have this enabled.  i am now unable to add an option set to a form.  when i add it, i get two fields, one as the field name (dropdown) and one as the "field name value" (text box).  the dropdown is useless, it returns a text value.  i need to either put the numeric value in the text box (the option set items index) or return that number from the dropdown.  how do i do this?

turning this option on in my app return 400 errors.  i need this to work with the setting off.

Hi @bboardman ,

Do you want to display an option set by returning its index?

if so, I am afraid that it has not been supported in PowerApps currently.

I suggest you to express your views on PowerApps Ideas Forum.Your precious advice will be very helpful for our work.

You could use Combo Box to display option set in CDS. Create an EditForm, choose the option set field , it will automatically generate a Combo Box to display the option set.

the combo box does not work either with the "relational data, option set, and other..." setting turned off.  that is my issue.  it was working fine before the update.  existing forms in my app are working but adding a new form doesn't work.
