cannot edit canvas app fields that have the attribute "(custom)"

Hi,

I have created a SharePoint list with various columns, which I can add as Fields to the Power App. Some fields, however, are being marked as "(custom)" and I am no longer able to change those data cards' control type. Attached a screenshot.

I've searched the web for some tips and explanations about why this happens, but could  not find any. Could someone please advice if it is possible to modify a a data card that has been marked as "(custom)"?

Thank you.

Hi @mantastg08876 ,

A Custom card simply means you have unlocked it. You can change the control type on these by inserting the one you want and removing the old one, however two things

  • The control has to be compatible with the data type
  • You will generally need to change the Update property of the DataCard
  • You will also need to set things like the Default if you want to see data in it.
