connection to excel and checkbox, other controls

I'm connecting an app to an excel spreadsheet. I don't want all the cards on my editform and displayform to be text input cards. Setting the cell format of the excel table to date, I was able to have a date card on my forms in the app. But I couldn't figure out how to get checkboxes or dropdown controls on my cards (for example, that the user can toggle the checkbox and that in the excel field it appears Yes or No according to the toggling).

Re: connection to excel and checkbox, other controls

Hi @lchabut,

It would require changing the default controls within the datacard in form control when App generated from Excel Data directly.

Please first follow the article below first:

Understand data forms in Microsoft PowerApps

For the Check Box,we could change the Update property of the corresponding datacard with CheckBox.text,

then for CheckBox, change the text property with the code below:

Doing it in this way, would make the CheckBox change its text to Yes when checked, and show "No" if unchecked.

Hope the information above is helpful.

Re: connection to excel and checkbox, other controls

Hi @v-micsh-msft,

Thank you for the reply. Sorry, I don't really understand how I can change datacard default controls to form controls: since I am already in the editform screen generated directly by PowerApps, I think the cards' controls should be already form controls, no?

I tried changing the Update property of my datacard to CheckBox.text but it gives an error message.
