copy detail form to create edit form

HI

After spending all the time creating the "Detail" form is there anyway to "copy" it and convert it to a New/Edit form?

Regards

To improve performance, you don't need to recreate those forms.

Insert 3 other buttons on the Same screen on Onselect of the buttons:

NewButton:

NewForm (YourFormName)

Editbutton:

EditForm (YourFormName)

Viewbutton:

ViewForm (YourFormName)

When you click on the button, it will change from New to view to Editform.

Hi @Mrrcomp ,

When you Detail form, does it mean Display Form, which is only used to view details, right?

If so, I afraid there is no direct way to convert DisplayForm to EditForm, since they are two different controls.

If you want to be less complex, please remember to only use EditForm in the furture, since EditForm can be convert to View mode which is equivalent to DisplayForm. However, DisplayForm can't be converted to EditForm.

Hope this helps.

So true. So many limitations and workarounds with Power Apps and very counterintuitive.

Aaaaaaargh - hours to create the form and now I cannot use it for editing or adding new data.  This damned software is so non intuitive - honestly, I am not stupid when it comes to MS software but to create a professional end product with this facility is so clunky and time consuming.  TOTALLY. UTTERLY. AWFUL!!!
