datepicker format to weekday

Hi

I am trying to create get the day from a date once the user has selected a date from the date picker control for example 20/02/2017 would be returned as 'Monday 20th February 2017' but it doesn't seem to be working as it states it should here - https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/tutorials/function-text/#examples. it is just duplicating.

This is my formula for the text box control I would like the weekday displayed in -

Text( DateOfTicket, DateTimeFormat.LongDate )

The datepicker is named 'DateOfTicket'

I can't seem to figure this one out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: datepicker format to weekday

Hey JmeBrey,

You just need to add the property of "SelectedDate" in your formula as follows;

Text(DatePicker1.SelectedDate, DateTimeFormat.LongDate)

or this if you want the long day name;

Text(DatePicker1.SelectedDate, "dddd dd mmmm yyyy")

This should format the date as you expect.
