Can you share screen shot of the custom form by selecting one of the datacard.

Setting Required = true for a datacard will show * (asterik) .

Though "Role" is NOT mandatory in my List I can set Required to true.

I am not sure how a screenshot would help. What would you like to see? 

I said that the asterisk shows when I set Required to true. It does not, however, prevent the form from saving if you don't put anything in the required field. The form will still submit if the required field is left blank. I don't want the form to submit when required fields are left blank.
