error message The record specified is not an entity or not owned by this data source

I have been running an app for 3 weeks and starting 5/1 we are not able to edit records and get the following message when we attempt to edit and save a record. I am using a SQL Azure database.

"The record specified is not an entity or not owned by this data source"

I can change records on the phone app and from the desktop app. Cannot change from the browser.

I can not find any reference to this.

Any help would be appreciated

Hi Jguzzo,

Does this this error message only occur when you run the app based on a SQL Azure database on browser? While on Phone and desktop PowerApps, the app works as expected.

Do you have other apps that based on other SQL Azure tables? If possible, please check if these apps are also getting the error on browser.

Please also check if you have made any changes on the table.

Please also provide the Session ID for a further investigation. You could get the Session ID under: File>Account>Diagnostics>Session Details.

I just started recieving this error today.  We have been using our system for 4 months with little problems.  Now I can enter a record on my phone and then update it from my phone but not from my pc. If I enter it on the pc I can edit it on the pc but not my phone. The device that was used to create the record is the only device that can edit it. All devices can read it just not update it.

We are using the on premisis gateway with MS SQL.

I am not sure what has changed but this has my whole system shut down!!

I have Microsoft trying to figure out what my issue is. I have narrowed it down to a Toggle control. I Have a toggle control set to filter out completed records. If I remove the logic for the toggel control my app works.

Also my APP did work if I run it from the desktop app. If only failed when it was being run in the browser

Hope this helps

Hi jguzzo,

Could you show me the function you are using for the Toggle control?

If possible, please also provide your Session ID.

I am also getting the same error with Azure SQL Database as a data source, but have no toggle controls.

Please update me on this issue, the app is now unusable in browser or in studio.

I made a new app today to test my database and connection. I am using the on premisis gateway with MS SQL Server 2016. With my new app I can create an entry and edit it with any device.  So I know the db and connection aren't the problem, it's something in my app but I have no idea what.  I haven't made any changes to the app or the database for a couple weeks and it's been running fine until yesterday.  I don't have any toggle controls in my app.

I am getting the same error, it started yesterday for my application. It works fine from the phone, however from a browser I get an error.

We are also now experiencing this issue when trying to modify a record as well.

We have not made any changes to PowerApp or Database in weeks.

Please advise,

**EDIT: The error seems to occur when editing entries on a different device than the record was originally created on. (ie Error occurs when attempting to edit an entry from Desktop app that was created via Mobile app, or editing an entry from the Mobile app that was originally created on the Desktop app)

i should add that my datasource is the common data model and not sql, my sql datasources for the time being seem to be working fine.
