field value to text workaround?

I would like to display text in a form from a field in a linked datasource that is different than the datasource that is in the Data property of my form. The reason for this is that the form is used to enter inspection data into a database, while the best practices and corrective actions to be taken in the event of a citation are stored in another table.

Does anyone have a workaround for this type of situation?

I would like to reference the field in a label with something like this:

Filter(inspectionquestions, recordID = "1" ).fieldtoshow

However, the Text property of a label does not accept Table or Record values.

Really, what I need is a workaround for displaying a field as text instead of a record or table value.

You were real close. You need LookUp

Lookup(inspectionquestions, recordID = "1" ).fieldtoshow

That should work.

Filter returns tables, Lookup returns Records.

Cool?
